Every guided fly fishing trip is a lesson, and you should expect to learn, as well as catch fish. Not every person has the same abilities so every trip is designed to improve your skills whether you’re a long time angler or just beginning your journey into fly fishing. All trips begin with a phone call from your trout fly fishing guide in Asheville, NC, to discuss your skills and your wants out of the trip. The guide will setup a trip based on your needs and you’ll find the best meeting spot for your trip. Once on the water you’ll go over basic casting, hooking and landing and other procedures for the day, then with your guide you’ll start working on the water. At the end of the guided fly fishing trip, pictures and high fives will be exchanged, and away you’ll go with some great knowledge from a fun day on the water.

When scheduling a fishing trip with Cross River’s Fly Fishing it is advised to avoid canceling or rescheduling in order to prevent scheduling and booking conflicts with our guides. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve a trip in advance, and if you fail to show up, you will be charged the full price of the scheduled guide trip. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the trip or in the case of a “no show” will result in the forfeiture of the deposit and remaining trip balance. The guide may cancel the trip due to weather, river conditions, or mechanical breakdown. Trips proceed rain or shine unless deemed unsafe by the guide. If the reservation is canceled due to unsafe conditions, the deposit can be applied to a future trip within the same year. Cross River’s Fly Fishing believes this policy is fair and aims for clients to have an enjoyable experience on the water under favorable conditions.

Yes you need a valid NC fishing license or Cherokee tribal permit if fishing in cherokee. Anyone 16 years or older will need to get a license. Talk to your guide before purchasing to confirm the location you will be fishing.
